Questions for couples

26 questions about the future for couples

These questions are about the life you're building: where you'll live, what you'll save for, which trips you can't skip and what an ordinary Tuesday looks like in ten years. Dream big, then compare notes.

How to play

  1. Answer on your own

Pick a question. You each answer without seeing the other's answer. Write it down or keep it in your head.

  2. Guess your partner's answer

Before you share, guess what your partner said. On pick-one questions, guess which option they chose.

  3. Reveal together

Share both answers at the same time. See who guessed right, then talk about why.

Duotone's Play tab works the same way. You each answer on your own phone, guess your partner's pick, and see both answers once you've both answered.

Frequently asked questions

When should couples talk about the future?

Any time it feels natural. You don't need to plan your whole life in one talk. Start small, with a trip or a goal for this year, and build from there.

What if our answers are very different?

That's normal, and it's useful to know. Different answers start a conversation. Ask what matters most to your partner in their answer and look for the overlap.

How often should we come back to these?

Once or twice a year works well, for example around your anniversary or New Year. Plans change, and it's fun to see how your answers change too.

Can we play these in Duotone?
